Acceptable Use Policy

1. Lawful use only

Use WikiMonitor only for lawful purposes. Do not use alerts to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or defame anyone — including Wikipedia editors — or to facilitate any such conduct by others.

2. Respect editor privacy

Alerts show editor names or IP addresses exactly as Wikipedia publishes them. You may not use the service to attempt to identify, expose, locate, or contact editors against their wishes, and you may not use WikiMonitor as part of any effort to deanonymize any person. Wikipedia’s own policies on editor privacy and harassment apply to what you do with public revision data.

3. No misuse of the service itself

• No resale or rebadging of the service or alerts without a separate written Enterprise agreement.
• No scraping or automation of this website, the sign-up or sign-in flows, or the account system.
• No exceeding allowances by circumventing page or recipient limits, sharing one subscription across organizations, or creating duplicate accounts.
• No interference with detection, delivery, billing, or security systems, and no attempts to gain unauthorized access.

4. Fair use for high-edit pages

A small number of Wikipedia pages change hundreds of times a day. We deliver your alerts rather than silently throttling them, but sustained abnormal volume beyond normal customer use — for example, monitoring for the purpose of bulk redistribution — may be reviewed with you, moved to an Enterprise agreement, or limited. You will hear from a human before anything changes.

5. Your responsibility for recipients

You choose who receives alerts. Do not add recipients who have not consented to receive them, and honor their unsubscribes. We may remove recipient addresses that generate complaints.

6. Enforcement

We may warn, suspend, or terminate any subscription that violates this policy, and take action required by law. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you first — except where the violation involves harassment of editors or other users, or legal risk to others, in which case action may be immediate.

7. Reporting

Report abuse of the service to team@wikimonitor.com. If content on Wikipedia itself violates Wikipedia’s policies, the correct venue is Wikipedia’s own community processes — our guides explain those paths.
