1. Who we are

WikiMonitor is owned and operated by The Discoverability Company, 224 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102. For privacy questions: team@wikimonitor.com.

2. What we collect

• Account: your email address and verification status.
• Monitoring configuration: the Wikipedia pages you choose, your recipients and their delivery preferences (immediate or digest), and subscription page allowances.
• Billing: handled by our payment processor. We retain subscription status and billing identifiers; we never store full card numbers.
• Operational records: delivery logs (whether an alert email was sent and accepted), sign-in link issuance, security logs, and support correspondence.
• Enterprise inquiries: the details you submit in the Enterprise form.

3. Public Wikipedia data

The service processes public Wikipedia revision data — page titles, revision diffs, editor account names or IP addresses as Wikipedia displays them publicly, edit comments, and tags — to generate your alerts. That data is already public on Wikipedia; we add no new public exposure. We do not attempt to identify who editors are in real life, and we do not combine editor data with any information about you.

4. Plain-English summaries

Alert summaries and severity ratings are generated automatically from public edit data (the diff, event type, edit comment, and public editor class). Your name, email, billing data, and the fact that you monitor a page are never inputs to that analysis. When an automated summary cannot be produced with confidence, the alert says so and shows the raw change instead.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
• We run no advertising or analytics trackers on this site at launch.
• We do not create Wikipedia accounts or watchlists for customers.
• We do not publish what you monitor, and page titles are never tied to your identity in status pages or operational metrics.

6. Cookies

This site uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Where our anti-abuse protection runs on public forms, its provider may set strictly necessary functional cookies to distinguish humans from bots. Sign-in uses emailed single-use links; no long-lived login cookies are required.

7. Service providers (categories)

We share data only with categories of providers needed to run the service, under contract:

• Payment processing (card data goes directly to the processor).
• Transactional email delivery (alert and account emails, delivery status).
• Hosting and content delivery (this website and the API).
• Form anti-abuse protection on public forms.

We disclose personal data only if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the service, our users, or others.

8. Retention

Account and billing records are kept while your subscription is active and as required for tax and legal purposes. Alert delivery logs are kept only as long as needed for support, audit, and suppression handling. Public diff content follows a documented retention schedule; the authoritative copy is on Wikipedia. You can request deletion of your account data at any time (see section 10).

9. Security

Transport is encrypted throughout; sign-in links are single-use, hashed, and short-lived; access to production data is restricted; and databases are backed up encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no absolute guarantee — but minimizing collection is our first control.

10. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe: every alert includes a one-click unsubscribe for that monitoring preference.
• Access, correction, deletion: email team@wikimonitor.com from your account address and we will act within a reasonable period.
• Cancellation: cancelling stops future renewals; see the Refund Policy.

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, state consumer-privacy laws or the GDPR if you are in the EEA/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. We honor applicable rights regardless of where you live; contact us to exercise them.

11. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced by email to account holders before they take effect, and the effective date above will change.
